Jr's B-day cake

I made a cars cake for Jr's lightning Mcqueen cars Party! Chocalate cupcakes, yellow cake, and cocoa rice krispies for the "bleachers" Took me a couple hours but it was worth it! Will post party pics soon. My camera was not working so waiting on photos from friends.

I can't believe he's 3 already!! Went to sears, he had pertussis and we didn't even know it, but still did a great job smiling for the camera!

WE ARE BACK!!!!!

Well it's been a really long time since I posted. I don't have pics but I will soon. Just thought I would let everybody know how jr is doing. He is 20 months already and has lots of energy. He says a few words and knows several signs. He surprised me one day with the sign for thank you, it was so cute! He is 24 lbs and in the 90th percentile for his height! He is off the bottle, practicing using a spoon and fork, and just a ton of fun! He went with his paternal Grandmother to Gary, IN for the Easter weekend:( I was kinda sad, first time on a plane without mommy and this will be the longest time he has been away from me. But I know he is having fun with all his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins! Well we will b going to the NICU reunion soon and looking forward to it. The same day as the reunion is the March for babies (formally March of Dimes) Walk and we are Walking!!! We are so excited to participate being that jr was a preemie himself, we are walking in Honor of him! Lots of pics soon to come!

1st B-day Pictures!!

We took Jr. to Sears for his 1st B-day Portraits! He did a really good job! He is so photogenic!

He actually did not like this pose and either did Mommy! He cried and kept trying to look back to see what was on top of him! Even though he is smiling he is kinda teary eyed!

The number one statue was kinda wobbly so we had to take quick shots! He still has to hold on to a firm surface.

Our theme for his 1st B-day was Baseball (MN Twins) He is wearing Daddy's TC hat!

Such a happy little guy we have here! 4 more days till his 1st BIRTHDAY and the anniversary of the scariest time of my life. A year ago today I was on bedrest trying so hard to keep him inside for just a little bit longer! He is our miracle baby!

He was exclusively breastfeed for the first 8 months and here he is trying green beans for the first time! Not a fan! Priceless!

2008 NICU Reunion!!!

We went to the NICU reunion in April and it was pretty packed! Didn't see any of the Nurses that took care of him tho, I guess it was a busy in the NICU that day, and ones that didn't work probably didn't want to come in on their off days! Saw a few twins and triplets! Lots of the parents we saw I recognized, either from our 7 week stay at the NICU or from work when they were on bedrest! We also made a quilt square for the reunion quilt that will be posted on the wall outside the NICU! It should be up soon!

We put him on the display isolette that he lived in for the first 4 1/2 weeks of his life! He weighed 2lbs 12ozs! My we have come a long way!!!! What a miracle! I'm am so thankful that he is so healthy with no long term effects from being a 28 weeker!! I thank God for my Son!!
The clown was worried she was going to scare him, but he did pretty good! As you can see he didn't smile, but he didn't cry either! He kept reaching for her nose, he wanted to grab it so bad it was hilarious!

Derrick Sr. was being a good sport and let the clown put her hat on him!

They had a fun band for all the kids and we put Jr. on the table so he could "dance". Here is a hat he got at the craft table. Grandma Clara is holding him! Isn't that a cute face!

Hi Everybody!

It's been a long time I know! I finally got the opportunity to update but I don't even know where to start! We are going back about 5 months!


We got Jr. Dedicated back in Feb. He did a great job during the ceremony! He didn't cry much at all, mommy cried more than he did!
