10 weeks today!!!

Well things are moving along wonderfully!! I have had NO morning sickness at all whatsoever!!! I feel great and I hope I continue to feel amazing!! I've gained 4lbs. so far and have had a few cravings! My favorites are dairy queen blizzards, chocolate milk, good salads and pears!! Really trying to watch what I eat, don't want to gain to much, but sometimes the cravings are so hard to resist!! Good thing I'm craving healthy things as well. Been taking lots of walks, really trying so stay active. I've been a little tired some days, just wanting to stay in bed till i have to get up! But for the most part, i feel great! Today on my break at work, we took the doppler (hand held listening device) and tried to find the heartbeat. They say you can start to listen for it at 10 weeks, i started at 8 1/2, but we couldn't find it just yet, will try again in a week or so. But to my amazement, we did hear lots and lots of movements it was great, and very reassuring! We have our 2nd prenatal visit in 2 weeks, so the Doc will forsure find it then!!

First Ultrasound!!

We saw a heartbeat today!!! Happy Birthday Derrick!!!!

We had our first appointment today (Derrick's Birthday) and we got to see the wonderful heartbeat!! It was a very strong 143 beats per minute and we couldn't be happier!! It made it feel even more real just having proof that there is really life growing inside me!! Doc says everything looks good, and said to come back in 1 month!! We celebrated our news and Derrick's birthday at Red Lobster today, Derrick's favorite!! We also had our first prenatal class a couple days ago, "healthy beginings". Lots of information I already knew, but I've waited so long to get pregnant, I want to do everything, good for derrick to be well informed as well!! They gave us a whole bunch of goodies, lots of free samples, reading material, and a recipe for homemade baby wipes!!! I always wanted to do that, can't wait! Well i think this was the best Birthday Derrick's ever had!!!! We saw our miracle today!!!

The best Valentine's Day ever!!!

I got up in the morning, took the home pregnancy test, and it was positive!!! I couldn't believe it!! I just cried and made and appointment right away to confirm it! Nurse said I was exactly 4 weeks along! My period wasn't even late yet, was due that day! I was in total shock and amazement! Derrick doesn't get of work till 5p.m. and it was only 11a.m.!! I knew I wanted to suprise him in person, so I just went home and got ready!! Being that it was Valentine's Day, it was already a special day!! We already had plans to exchange our Valentines and spend the rest of the evening together! I bought a plain white ballon and decorated it with "You're gonna be a Father, finally", with cute little baby stickers! I found a card that said "Expectant Father" and wrote "we're having a baby" in it! Got a red paper bag, put the home pregnancy test in it and filled it with candy! When he got home finally, it seemed like it took forever, but I was just so anxious the whole day waiting, I was so nervous!! He hugged me and said "Happy Valentine's Day, I said it back trying so hard to keep my secret for a few more minutes!! After the valentine exchange, I took him up to what would be the new baby's room and told him he had one more card to open! Let me tell ya, I was so excited, nervous, just tons of feelings rushing thru me. He opened the card, and didn't really get it at first. He thought it meant that he was going to be a father eventually. It took him a couple of minutes to figure it out, then his mouth dropped. He gave me a big hug and I just balled in his arms!! He kept on saying "are you sure", "no way", "I can't believe it"! I said "yep, look in your bag"! It was so fun! We had my mom come over to get her "valentine" and told her in the card that wer'e pregnant! She was so happy she balled in my arms this time! I'm the only child and this is her 1st grandbaby! Derrick's mom wasn't able to come over so he told her over the phone, she was so happy! It was truly the Best Valentine's Day ever!!

We're Pregnant!!

After being friends for over 13 years, together for 10, married for 2 1/2, we're finally having a baby!! I am still in total shock, I can't believe God answered my prayers! We found out on Valentine's Day!! This is truly a miracle baby!! I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and women that have this have a lot of trouble getting pregnant! Infertility is the #1 problem with PCOS along with a long list of other things like weight issues, irregular periods, ovulation problems and more! We tried for over 6 years with lots of breaks in between to be on birth control to regulate my cycle. It has truly been a difficult process but so worth it. I'm so excited to start this journey to Motherhood!!! Derrick is beside himself, he is so excited to be a Father! Every once and a while he'll say, "I still can't believe your pregnant"! I can't believe it either!
